Important COVID-19 MOT Update

Added: 29 June 2020

The Government have now put new measures in place with regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, from the 30th of March 2020 until the 31st of July 2020 MOT due dates for cars, motorcycles and light vans will be extended by 6 months.

You do NOT need to do anything to extend your vehicle’s MOT expiry date if it is due between the 30th March 2020 and 31st July 2020. Your vehicle will be given an automatic 6 month exemption.

If your vehicle is due to have an MOT on the 1st of August 2020, you will NOT get an extension and MUST book an MOT as usual, you can do this here.

Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition, we ave put together some tips to help ensure this. Click here to read.
