Peugeot Prize Draw Winner Announced
CEM Day Peugeot entered anyone who test drove the highly impressive new Peugeot 3008 between October 2009 and January 14th into an exciting prize draw competition. First prize were vouchers worth £280 to use at a top family holiday destination run by Center Parcs.
The winner has been chosen by Peugeot in a randomly selected prize draw and now the name of that winner can be revealed. He is Mr Peter Hopping of Llanelli who actually took two test drives at the dealership.
Jamie Rowlands, CEM Day Peugeot’s Sales Manager, said:” We are delighted to present Mr Hopping with his Center Parc vouchers and hope that he and his family enjoy their holiday together. The competition certainly stirred up a great deal of interest in the new Peugeot 3008 and we’ve sold several whilst we’ve been running the test-drive prize draw and taken orders since.”
A stunned Mr Hopping commented: “What a fantastic surprise, we can’t wait to take the children away later in the year – thank you to Days and Peugeot Motor Company.

Next generation Ford Focus Debuts
On January 11th 2010, the next-generation Ford Focus makes its worldwide debut at 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The UK launch is planned during Q1, 2011.
The New Focus will feature sporty and dynamic exterior styling, marking the next evolution of Fords acclaimed kinetic Design language. The dramatic exterior is reinforced by a modern, high quality, cock-pit style interior. The exciting new design is complemented by unmatched driving quality. What will happen to car registration numbers in 2010?
From September 2001 registration plates have been displayed as two letters and two numbers. Between Sept 2001 and Sept 2009 if the first number was a ‘0’ then the car was registered in the first half of the year, if the first number was a ‘5’ then the car was registered in the second half of the year. The second number indicated the year of registration, so CV56 would indicate that the car was registered during the later part of 2006.
The digits for the new March 2010 registration plate will be displayed as follows.
In September 2010 the same plate would read CV60 DAY, In March 2011 it would read CV11 DAY and in September 2011 it would read CV61 DAY.
The DVLA have advised that this pattern will continue until all permutations are exhausted.
Commercial Operator Open Day – Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
Day’s Truck Centre in conjunction with Commercial Operator Training Solutions held a free open day on Thursday 10th Dec.
Two productive sessions were held during the day to inform and advise on the new legislation that affects all professional drivers of lorries over 3.5 tonnes, buses, coaches and minibuses.

Days Official 2010 Chip n Days Cheeky Charity Calendar - Available 5th December
The lovely men of Days recently donned their birthday suits to create a calendar in aid of the Special Baby Care Unit at Singleton Hospital. 12 unique locations within Days of Plasmarl created the perfect settings for the photographs and 38 brave male employees of various Days branches completed the scenes.
The calendars are just 5.00 each and are available from all branches of Days and can also be ordered by calling 01792 616087.
All proceeds from the calendar are being donated to the Special Baby Care Unit at Singleton Hospital and with your help we are hoping to raise over 10,000.
Days Truck Centre Clients, Coca Cola Enterprises, Wins FTA Roadworthiness Award
In conjunction with the CCE Fleet Engineers and the Freight Transport Association every LDS and FSV fleet operation are annually measured against each other across standards of vehicle safety, condition and maintenance.
We are very pleased to learn that our clients, Coca Cola Enterprises Wales and South West Region, Bridgend FSV operation has been awarded the overall winner of the 2009 FTA Roadworthiness Award within CCE and we will be featured in the FTA magazine.
This a excellent accolade which is down to real team effort, management of the fleet and service agents and the VSR's for the implementing of the pre use checks.
Steve Marks, Wales and South West Region Vending Sales Operations Manager, was presented with an award from the FTA for Roadworthiness Awards Winner 2009 in recognition of excellent standards of vehicle safety, condition and maintenance. Days Acquires Fiat Franchise
CEM Day Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition of the premises formally owned by Eric Ashmole, Fiat, Swansea Enterprise Park and the Fiat car & commercial franchise for the Swansea territory.
The double acquisition is an exciting opportunity that will further the Day’s Motor Group and will offer a range of employment opportunities with more than 20 new jobs in the area.
It is hoped that the new dealership will be open in early August, ready for the new registration plate in September.

Days Delivers!...A fleet of 35 IVECO Stralis Tractor Units
Days Truck, Van & Bus Centre has just delivered 35 IVECO Stralis tractor units to John Raymond Transport Ltd. of Bridgend, Wales premium haulage contractors and warehousing company. The units are replacing older IVECO and SCANIA vehicles taken out of the fleet , are the latest Euro 5 emissions standard and are the greenest vehicles ever operated by the company. John Raymond Transport have also recently been awarded the Green Dragon Environmental Standard for the second year running.
The latest vehicles were supplied on a 3 year Full Maintenance Agreement which Days will carry out either on site at the John Raymond workshop in Bridgend or at the Days Truck Centre.
These outstanding new vehicles will be predominantly used to transport the goods of John Raymond Transports most influential customers such as Tesco, Sony & Rockwool to name but a few.
During the current climate it has been pleasing to learn that this latest deal was won purely on the level of service previously provided to this Blue Chip Operator. Mr David Watkins, Director of Days Truck Operations, first met Mr Raymond (senior) some 25 years ago when he was invited to give a presentation to the St. John Ambulance Brigade, of whom he was a patron, and has had a longstanding friendship and successful business relationship with the family ever since.
